How can I turn my attitude around?

I'm getting older and going through different phases as most girls do, but my attitude is becoming snotty and overwhelming. Help! I don't want to grow up into some grouch.

Dear Bad Attitude,

I salute you for recognizing that now that you are getting older, you don't want to act childish. And friends and parents will appreciate it if you say, “Thanks,” or "Okay," or “How are you?” instead of just complaining or acting entitled and narcissistic. (A narcissist is a person who is me-deep in conversation.) When you act civil and polite, others will too, so your efforts to act nice instead of nasty will go rewarded. The fact that you are questioning your own sour behavior also makes me know that, despite your worries, you are already heading in the right direction.
