Declare a thumb war to stop teens from texting and driving

Texting behind the wheel is one of the most dangerous things you can do, more so than drinking and driving. It makes a crash 23 times more likely to occur, but 77 percent of teens don't think it's a problem. And with some teens sending thousands of texts a month, getting new drivers to stow their phones when they hit the road is essential. Guess what? You can help.
Do Something's latest campaign urges you to spread the word about the dangers of texting while driving by declaring a thumb war. They're giving away free thumb socks to help you do it. While saving lives is the big prize, taking part could also help ya score a $5,000 scholarship, just by sharing a scary stat about texting and driving with six friends. Snap a pic of you and your buds with your thumb socks, and you get a bonus entry. Suh-weet.
Tell us, babes: Do you know someone who texts and drives? What will you do to make them stop?
