"Lost in Hope" - An original poem

Hello darlings! As we slip into summer, here's a sweet poem we hope you'll take to heart. It's written by a GL reader just like you. Please leave your critiques in the comments.

"Lost in Hope"
Sitting in a grassy field,
bright green and full of life
surrounded by lively buttercups
and hopeful lilies

I close my eyes
and listen to the birds
singing, telling me
everything will be okay

The warm sun beams
down on me
not too warm,
and not too cold

Hope calls out to me
“Just breath,”
she whispers,
“Relax and live the moment.”

A feeling of safety falls over me,
not seeing my friends
around me, but knowing
they are there

I am lost in the moment,
sun shining, birds chirping,
flowers dancing,
nature living

In this moment, I am
stripped down to the core
of who I am and
who I want to be

All my hopes and dreams
my fears and worries
my talents and flaws
are in the palm of my hand
In this moment I am the
beauty of my imperfections
In this moment I am myself, and that
is good enough
