Does cheating count if it's long distance?


 
My BF lives on the other side of the state and I only get to see him about once a month. Soon, I'll see him for four days at camp (the place where we met). He calls me every day, but I still feel lonely. Ever since I got my BF, other guys started liking me. Should I get together with these other guys and not tell my BF? My mom says that I can date who ever I want, whenever I want because it's not like we're married or anything. But my friends say that if I dated someone else while still "seeing" my BF, it would be considered cheating. Who's right and what should I do?
 
Dave: What’s right is being upfront and honest. If your cross-state buddy knows the deal, it’s not cheating. And, considering the long distance, it is totally understandable that you’d like to hang out with other guys. Ultimately, the only opinions that matter are yours and his. If the two of you can find common ground, it’ll make for a couple of happy campers.

Bill: A long distance relationship can be like a great vacation to a faraway place. You have great memories when you return, but if you’re determined to go back there all the time, you’ll stop seeing all the great things about home. Tell your BF that you love visiting him, but you want to treasure the memory, and not just think about what a hassle it is to get together. Talk to him about seeing other people for awhile. That way, you’ll be doing what your mom says, while still being true to yourself.
