Is he flirting or just teasing?

There’s this boy I’ve liked for a long time. He says he doesn’t like me, but he always jokes around with me. He says he loves to tease me. My friends say he likes me, but I’m not so sure. What do you think?

Dear Teasing or Flirting,

Maybe he’s not sure either. Or maybe he doesn’t want to declare his affection for you just yet. Instead of trying to figure out if he like-likes you, relax and enjoy what is obviously a fun and flirty friendship. Some guys are very shy, and for them, one tiny half smile is a huge deal. Other well-meaning, confident guys love talking with girls in general, even when they aren’t infatuated with anyone in particular. Decoding guys’ actions will hopefully get easier in time.
