Ed. Obsession under $5: For the perfect pop of color, this polish is everything

The perfect nail polish is a little bit like the perfect guy. Some boys are great for a few days, or maybe a certain occasion, but eventually you’re ready to move on and try something else. Until you find The One and, suddenly, it hits you: that giddy feeling of obsession/adoration/admiration when you’ve met an amazing match. Meeting this nail polish for the first time was exactly like that.

Salon Perfect Professional Nail Lacquer, $4, Walmart

Yes, I am in love with a lacquer. Meet my new summer squeeze, Haute Pink by Salon Perfect ($4 at Walmart). And why do I love it? Let me count the ways...

1. The color is gorgeous. It’s a punchy hue that can only be described as electric coral. Not orange, not pink, but some eye-catching fiery shade right in the middle.

2. The matte texture lends an edgy vibe…and means it dries superfast. I’m talking three minutes, tops. And not still-a-bit-tacky dry. I mean 100% put-your-hands-in-your-jorts-pockets dry.

3. It’s cheap. Is that offensive? I mean it’s inexpensive. At $4 per bottle, this lacquer is a luxury that every girl can afford.

What do you think? What color are you crushin’ on for summer? Tell me in the comments or tweet me at @GLBeautyBabe
