5 must-know tips before you pack for summer vacay

Can we get a “woohoo”? Seriously babes, it’s summer vacation and that means its time to forget about due dates, homework, tests and stress for the next two months. Jet-setting in the summer is beyond fun, because there’s nothing more amazing than seeing the big, wide world we live in. Of course, before you get to the airport there is a little bit of grunt work involved. Yep, we’re talking packing, dolls. Need tips on how to load up your luggage? Keep on reading…

Tip #1: Get schooled

Before you even start planning what to bring, check with Mom and Dad on how many bags each person is allowed to bring. Once you know how much space you’re going to have to stash your stuff, you’re ready to get into the serious part…what to bring!

Tip #2: Weather wondering

Know what the weather conditions are going to be like before you pack. Maybe it’s gonna be a little chillier in NYC than planned, or perhaps the Caribbean is going through a rainy season. Sometimes its easy to imagine what the weather is gonna be like, but don’t take a chance—it only takes two secs to Google the weather of your locale. We promise you won’t regret knowing what’s in store.

Tip #3: Plan your outfits

It can be so overwhelming to just stare into your closet and wonder what items you’ll wear when you go away. Nix this sitch by planning out what ya wanna wear ahead of time. Take what you’ll be doing on your vacation into account (a shopping spree in Paris requires a different outfit than a hiking trip in the Canadian Rockies). Knowing what you want to wear ahead of time will also help you pick pieces you can mix and match for maximum wearability.

Tip #4: Remember essentials

Of course there are some items you so don’t wanna forget (bra and undies, bikinis, sunnies…we could go on). Avoid forgetting your fave items by whippin’ up a quick list of the top ten items you’re totes gonna need and want with you on this trip.

Tip #5: Fly & buy

Don’t freak out if you feel like you’re forgetting something, because worst case you can always buy it when ya get there! So, if ya pack light on the lipgloss, don’t be scared to stock up on arrival.
