Hey horse lovers! Macadoo of the Maury River is the tale of one incredible equine

Every animal has a story—and in the Maury River Stables books by Gigi Amateau, we meet incredible horses with amazing stories to share. In bookstores August 6, Macadoo of the Maury River is the second book in this heartwarming series about a very special stable.

Inside the stable
In the series’ first book, Chancey of the Maury River, the Maury River Stables is home to horses trained to provide therapeutic vaulting and riding for children. Each of the horses has its own story of joining the stable and discovering an incredible purpose in life. Chancey’s story follows the horse as he overcomes battles of sickness and grief with both determination and love.

No ordinary colt
In Macadoo of the Maury River, Macadoo is just a colt when he is forced to challenge his father, a huge stallion, in order to protect his family—and realizes he must grow up quickly to be strong for his mother and herd. Macadoo is forced to leave his home to embark on a journey that will answer his calling: to be of help and service to others.

Macadoo’s adventures take him through many challenges that will test his strength: leaving the comfort of his herd, enduring a horse auction, learning to be a vaulting horse and giving therapeutic riding lessons. And, eventually, Macadoo’s travels lead him to the Maury River Stables—where the gentle giant’s patience and hope find a special place in the stable.
