Does turning down your BGF save your friendship?

A great guy asked me out. I turned him down because he is one of my really good friends. The problem? He won’t stop telling me that I’m the perfect girl. He says he can’t help what he thinks. I don’t even know what to say to him anymore.

Dave: Great guy…check. Thinks you’re the perfect girl…check. A guy not shy about expressing his true feelings…check. Normally, I’d advise pondering long and hard about risking a friendship for a boyfriend. But in some case, you have to make the leap. Date him…check.

Bill: Sounds like a great guy is kinda infatuated with you. Not a bad problem to have. That said, while he may think you’re the perfect girl for him, nobody’s perfect. So still follow your instincts and do what seems right for you.
