Halloween Mani: Spooky spider webs

We’re on week two of the Halloween Mani mania. But instead of sweet (like last week’s candy corn how-to), we’re going for straight-up spooky. Read on for the creepy, crawly cobweb tutorial.

Tools

Base color (orange, white, black, slime green, etc)

Web colors (black or white)

Thin paintbrush, toothpick or nail pen in color of your choice

Top coat

Instructions

1. Paint your base color. Let dry.

Note: You can alternate colors like I did, or use the same one for all digits.

2. Draw 4-5 lines, beginning from the corner of your nail (or at the center of your nail, if you want a French mani look, like my ring finger). Paint the middle strand first, then go outwards from the starting point.

Tip: To get seriously straight lines, practice the painting the line above the nail without touching it. Then after a couple of dry runs, paint. Perfection!

3. Paint scalloped lines from strand to strand, starting at the inside of the web. After finishing the inner row, keep going outwards until you have 3 rows of web. Add a dot to the end of the strands. Let dry.

4. Cover with a clear coat and voilà!
