We know there are tonsa questions when it comes to your hair, but a big one is whether brushing your strands like crazy is actually beneficial. Should one take the time to brush her hair 100 times before bed, or is it all for naught? Could we actually be harming our hair by doing this?
We’re decoding the age old Q: If you brush your hair 100 times, will it be stronger and shinier?
A. So it turns out pretending to be a princess and brushing your tresses 100 times every night with a bristle brush can actually damage your hair and scalp. Every time the bristles scrape along your scalp, it can create flaking that irritates your scalp and cause discomfort. Also, excessive brushing can snap the ends of your strands and create split ends.
One way to avoid this entire situation happening is to try a
boar bristle brush that will evenly distribute the oils from your scalp to
create shiny, healthy hair. This type of brush is safe enough to use frequently
without damaging your strands. Although, we’re not condoning you shoot for 100
brushstrokes a night. Who has time for that?
Our tips for shinier
1. Moisturized hair always looks shiny. Use a hair mask once a week in the shower for 5 minutes.
2. Skip washing your hair every day. The natural oils in your hair will moisturize and create natural shine to balance out hair health.
3. Sleep on a silky satin pillowcase. Rubbing your hair on a cotton pillowcase can create dullness and frizz.
4. Comb a shine serum through wet hair. Then again once your hair is styled and dry.
