I’m worried because I’m in high school and I’m not having feelings for
guys in my class, like my friends do. Sometimes, though, I think other girls
are really gorgeous. I don’t know if I like them like that, but I think I just
might. What do I do?

You’re not wrong
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being gay. Or being bisexual.
Or, while we’re on the subject, being transgender or transsexual or asexual. Or
experimenting with your sexuality. Not a single thing, no matter what anyone

Talk it out
Find someone you know won’t judge you for having these thoughts and
feelings, whether that’s a family member, a friend, a counselor, a coach, etc.
Ask to speak with them alone, take a deep breath and dive in to the

discussing your thoughts and emotions with someone who is impartial can help
you sort them out logically.
Even if you decide to stay silent, there are a lot of places that are
ready and willing to offer you support, and a lot of them will let you remain
anonymous. You can call a hotline anytime, like The Trevor Project at
1-866-488-7386. You can log on to thetrevorproject.org. You can
chat with teens just like you here. Sometimes it helps to know
that there are other people feeling the things you feel—sometimes, that’s all
