American girl writes song to support Pakistani teen's struggle

A few days ago, we shared with you the story of Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani teen who was shot in the head last year by the Taliban for her stance on women's rights, particularly education. It wasn't just us the story touched. When Samantha Anne Martin, 12, first heard about Malala, she was heartbroken. And then she decided to do something.
That something turned out to be a song that she has since made into a music video supporting a petition for Malala to be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Samantha wrote the song with her father, and a family friend helped out with the melody. The result? "Ricochet (Malala's Song)," which has just surpassed 13,000 views on YouTube.
