Floppy, fabulous sunhats are totally in right now––why not decorate yours in a super-cool, one-of-a-kind style?

Hit the everything-for-a-dollar store with your BFF and buy a couple of plain straw hats in colors you each dig. Now head to your house and hunt down an assortment of interesting buttons, lengths of ribbon, old costume jewelry like pins––anything that catches your eye. (The only rule here: keep the decorative details light––a heavy hunk of jewelry will weigh down your hat and change its shape.) 

Now decorate your chapeau any old way you want––stick to about three different decorative elements, max, so it won't look overdone. Spread buttons across the brim, loop a clashing-cool-color scarf around the base, go crazy! The sec you're finished, wear your hats for a runway walk around the block. Work it, girls!
