Nix those nicks!

Shaving
can be a tricky thing and doing it wrong can result in redness, bumps
and small cuts - none of which are fun! To ensure a smooth, bump-free
shave follow these easy directions: First, lather your legs with a
moisturizing soap or shaving cream. With a fresh razor blade (after a
couple of weeks, depending how often your shave, the blade gets dull
and causes nicks and razor burn), shave your legs in the direction
against hair
growth (move the razor up your leg, not down it). Rinse out the blade
throughout the process, removing already cut hair from the razor. This
will allow for a clean shave all over. Afterwards, be sure to rinse
thoroughly and use a moisturizing lotion on your legs following your
bath or shower.
As for tanning lotion, it's definitely a task
to get it even all over! Before you use self-tanner, use a moisurizing
lotion all over. Applying tanner to dry areas (like your knees and
elbows) will cause those areas to soak up more of the tanner and become
darker. When you rub it on, be sure to rub in a swirling motion and not
up and down. This will hep to spread it out more evenly and maximize
coverage. Also, ask someone to help you. No matter how flexible you
are, there are just some parts of your body that you'll never be able
to reach. Ask someone if they wouldn't mind applying the lotion to
those regions (like your back, neck and anywhere else you don't think
you could cover evenly). If you still get streaks, use an exfoliator to
help lighten your tan and even out the color.
And last but
now least, don't apply self-tanning lotion the same day you plan to
shave - shaving will strip the tan off and cause your legs to be
discolored from the rest of your body!
