Fresh start at a new school

I'm moving soon and I will be going into eighth grade when I move there. I'm one of those in-between girls that are awkward and teased by guys.

I'm not the prettiest, but I'm not ugly. I am not fat, but I'm not small. I don't get really good grades, but I don't do really bad. I don't want to be popular and stuck up when I move, but I also don't want to be made fun of. What do I do to make friends at my new school and still be myself?

Hey girl, sounds like your having a bit of an identity crisis, and you've come to the right person. I'm the poster girl for awkward behavior, from spilling on myself every time I wear white to bumping into everything on my path. The thing is, it's part of who you are, and if you're up all night worrying about being flawless, you're missing out on the best parts of life.

It would be great to wake up every morning looking like a celeb, dating every cute boy and leading all the teams at school. But the truth is that perfect peeps like this don't exist. Everyone has flaws, so it's totally natural that you're nervous about starting over at a new school.

Instead, of being scared about this new school, think of this as a fun 'n' fresh start. Look at who you really are. You might feel average in the looks department, but what are your best features? Play up those beautiful eyes, flawless skin or funky freckles. If you prefer to rock tee's and jeans over little dresses, then own that look, too. Add some accessories that show off your own style. Need more tips on how to play up you fave feature? Get some tried 'n' true tips RIGHT HERE.

And aside from feeling good on the outside don't forget that real confidence and true beauty is more than skin deep. When you're at your new school, it's a perfect time for a fresh start. So, step outside yourself. Always wanted to learn a new language? Join the French club. Fed up with your so-so grades? Show up for extra help in your math class come September. You'll better yourself, make new friends and really up your confidence all at once!

And if you're a little awkward or clumsy, who cares? Giggle at yourself if you do something silly, forget the stuff that makes you feel bad and remember that when you love who you are, everyone else at your new school will, too.
