You try to fit in, singing songs with your BFF and acting silly like she does, but no matter what it’s never good enough for your “best friend.”  Looks like your "bestie" is out to destroy your self-esteem since she seems to have none herself!

Me and my BFF “Emily” were singing a song a recess and then she was like “It’s your solo!”  So I started singing and after that she was like, “You sound like a Barbie doll!  You have a horrible high-pitched voice!  You really hurt my ears!”  Now I won’t sing in public because she is always squashing my self-esteem.

She acts really random in public, but when I act a bit odd and crazy and have people laughing, she looks at me and says “WHOA! Calm down Kate! We’re all getting creeped out by you now!”  I get really mad, but I don’t say anything because I don’t have the guts to speak up.  Mostly because one time I did, and she just said that I was acting annoying!

BFF Fix-It: Uh oh. Emily seems totally insecure! Always wanting to look better and cooler than your BFF is a sure sign that she's jealous of ya. She might not want other people to pay attention to you because then she doesn’t get the attention she wants. And it's def not cool that she could care less about you speaking up for yourself. That might be a sign that she's not that great of a friend. If she keeps it up, I’d say show her the door. She’s not worth it!
