American Idol Recap: Double Trouble
A record 43 million voted and two would be leaving the Idol clan. The show started off with an upbeat disco medley with dance moves choreographed by the one and only, Paula Abdul. After a super energetic performance, the idols still weren’t able to relax as they had to face their fate on the AI stage.
Lil Rounds was the first one told that she would be returning to her three children and her journey on the show was over. I wasn’t shocked and neither were the judges. Simon’s prediction was right (as usual). Lil gave a big performance one last time and said goodbye to her fellow competitors.
Next was yet another disco medley of hits by superstars Freda Payne, Thelma Houston and KC minus the Sunshine Band. It was totally entertaining and I even clapped my hands, danced, sang along and got into the groove.
Ryan jumped right back into serious mode and announced that Kris Allen, Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey were all safe. He then broke the news that Anoop Desai would be in the bottom despite his previous performance that had the judges raving. It was now down to Matt Giraud and Allison Irahetta. Just when I thought Matt was def going home, Ryan told Allison to join Anoop.

While contemplating who would be the one to go, viewers enjoyed a performance by former Idol contestant, the adorable David Archuletta.
It was now time to hear the results: Ryan revealed that Anoop Desai would ultimately be leaving us, and although I think he has a great voice—I was not surprised. The remaining finalists are certainly a group of amazing talent, these next few weeks are going to be tough and I can hardly contain my excitement. What did you girlies think of the show?
