Haute Couture...for Charity!

Ever wonder what's it's like to be in the fashion biz? Right now we're hearting chicks who are chic AND charitable. Morena Yap's entrepreneurial spirit makes her our inspirational inner beauty pick this week!

Morena Yap is a real girl with true inner beauty! She's a freshman at her high school in Cali and has taken her love for fashion and charity work to inspirational levels, creating a club called "The Angel Wears Chanel."

She loves all the designer, couture fashion lines, natch – but her specialty is finding inexpensive digs at local Goodwills, thrift stores and flea markets. Her and her club members then rework the vintagey duds into trendy, fashion forward pieces. So cool, right!?

At the end of May the club will be showing off their redesigned line of clothing in a fashion show. The new line is called "Alchemy" – props to Morena's BFF Chelsea Knights for coming up with the cool name. And  putting on a real live fashion show at such a young age – amazing!  "The fashion show will feature 15 to 20 designs," Morena comments. And to make the accomplishment even more exciting, all proceeds from the event will go to RuffHouzen, an organization which helps rescue homeless dogs and is run by celebrity designer, Ashley Paige!

In addition to the annual fashion show, the club is planning another event: "We have an event that we would like to do next year called "Style Swap" where girls swap clothes with each other," Morena says. Sounds like fun!

As if being a club president and putting on her own fashion show weren't enough, Morena also has her own fashion blog called "Too Haute to Handle" where she writes about some of the pieces she's redesigned. And this ambitious leading lady aspires to one day be the editor-in-chief of Vogue. You go girl! We're rootin' for ya!
