Essence of Time

Time lingers, waiting slowly,
For that one flaw in time.
When I’m exposed, entirely,
Why my heart is aching unwillingly?

Memories float, like hot summer air,
Washing over me like warm sweet sun.
Remembering how I felt when you were there,
Love swirling inside me, and taking me high.

Only to crash back down when you are gone.
The tears you never saw, the feelings you’ve never known.
Alone.
By myself I’ve dreamt painful things.

Lying next to you,
Is like lying next to heaven.
My heart was yours in one graceful sweep.
You’re close enough to touch,
But not close enough to keep.

Living without you kills,
I’m a statue, cold and numb.
No matter how many times I climb those hills,
It’s always your arms I find.

My time has an essence,
And baby, so does yours.
They’re here only as long as we need them,
But not always long enough to heal the sores.

Love is beautiful and sweet,
And dangerous as well.
Our love, is an incredulous feat,
Never will I regret it.

Time lingers, waiting slowly,
For that one flaw in time.
When my heart is open,
And it’s you it wants to find.
