Drift Far Away with Faryl Smith

Who’s beating out U2, Taylor Swift and Kelly Clarkson on the charts in the UK? No, not Miley or the Jonas Brothers. It’s 13-year-old Faryl Smith!

One of the 2008 stars of the hit TV show Britain’s Got Talent, Faryl’s been breaking records since her self-titled debut album released abroad this past March.
We listened to the tracks and are letting you in on our thoughts…

For a young teen, Faryl’s voice is amazingly powerful, showcasing her vocals by singing classical songs such as “Amazing Grace” and the chilling “Ave Maria.”  Each track on her album let’s you fully appreciate her voice and sound, rather than just beats found in most modern music today.

Which is our fave song by Faryl off her debut CD? “Brahms’ Lullaby” by far! And, really, this lullaby is anything but. If it actually puts you to sleep, we’d be shocked, as you can’t help but stay up with her amazing voice.

But this talented singer doesn’t only shine in the vocal department. She loves participating in normal everyday teen activities—she’s part of a football team (no, not real American football, but the British version of soccer) as well as choir, where she began her singing. Add learning to play the piano onto that and you’ve got a busy 13-year-old sensation.

Looking for some interesting new sounds? Be sure to check out Faryl’s album when it’s released in the US May 5th and let us know what you think.
