Bullied By Older Girls!

I’m getting bullied by older girls at school. When my class was getting ready for gym, a bunch of eighth graders walked by and said, "I hate fifth graders!" She looked right into my eyes. It was so embarrassing!  Not only me but my BFFs too!

It's getting to the point where I don't want to go school anymore because it makes me really uncomfortable and scared! Please help!

Mean girls are no fun and sooo not cool. No one likes a bully, so I have no idea why these girls think they’re so awesome. School is tough already, and dealing with mean girls makes it even worse.

When I was in middle school, there were girls who made fun of me, too. Looking back, I really wish I had said or done something to stand up for myself. Just because I didn’t do anything, doesn’t mean you can’t. There is no reason these girls should make you feel uncomfortable in your own school.

If you're not cool with confronting them directly, then tell an adult you trust, such as a teacher or maybe the guidance counselor. These girls shouldn’t be allowed to rule the school and, unfortunately, unless someone stands up to them, that’s what they’ll continue to do.

Remember, two rights don’t make a wrong. So that doesn’t mean you need to be rude to them to get yoursomething rude about fifth graders, ask her “What did we do to you?” Let her know you don’t appreciate her comments and kindly ask her and her friends to stop.

And if that doesn’t work, then ignore them. They’re probably just looking for a reaction and if you don’t give them one, then they’ll lose interest. More than likely, these girls have some serious insecurity issues and it makes them feel better to make fun of someone else.

Whatever you do, don’t let them get the best of you. Hold your head high and don’t give them the time of day. You go, girl!

Lots of love,
L’Oreal
