Hey babysitters, do the kids you're sitting for love animals? Here's a super simple craft to make with your little ones that's easy and oh-so-fun. Birds fly around all year long so this is perfect for any season, but it's extra awesome for sitting outside with the kids this summer.

Pine cones (you can grab these from your backyard or buy them at a craft store)
Peanut Butter
Bird seed (you can get this at any craft, grocery or pet store)
Yarn
Scissors
Plastic Knife
Wax Paper

Cut a piece of yard and tie it to the stem of each pine cone before you start. Cut it long so you can trim it later. Make sure you tell the kids to try to avoid getting the gooey materials on it, though!

Give each child a cup or bowl of peanut butter and if they're old enough, give them a plastic or butter knife to spread it all over the pine cone. If they're too young to handle a dull knife, spread it on for them.

Have the kids roll the pine cones in a big bowl of bird seed and allow them to use their hands to make sure all of the peanut butter is covered with bird seed.

Place the finished pine cones on wax paper and put them in the freezer for about an hour. Once the peanut butter has hardened, you can dangle them from trees in the backyard. Make sure you tie 'em tight and hang them high so the kids can't rip them down!
