Help for the only single sistah

Most of my friends have or have had boyfriends. They are more willing to flirt with anyone than I am. They always try to get me to go out or flirt with someone. When they try to get me a boyfriend I say I am fine.

I don't want to seem desperate but lately I've been thinking about boys and relationships a lot more. Now it's almost all I think about.
I feel like I'm desperate which is the one thing I try not to be. The worst part is I'm extremely shy around new people especially cute new people. Is it normal to feel like this? Any ways to be a little less shy?

Hey girl,

Trust me you are not alone on this one! It’s totally normal and natural for a girl to go through a boy-crazy phase! Our friends def have a huge influence on us and when we see our girls getting a new awesome BF or have our friends talking non-stop about the one they're crushin' on, its almost inevitable that our minds will start to wander in the same direction.

In all this boy craziness the most important thing to remember is to be true to Y-O-U. For example, if all your friends are talking about dating and you’re not ready to, don't sweat it! You have years ahead of you! Or, if you're the girl who has got boys on the brain and are doodling names in your notebook during class, that’s OK too! You're not the only girl out there doing the same thing!

As for being shy, I think all girls get a little uneasy in front of a real hottie. Just try to remember that guys are attracted to confidence and they don't want someone who is pretending to be somebody else. Also, as unbelievable as it may seem, guys are just as nervous around girls. They’re just a li’l better at hiding it. Remember just relax, be confident and be you! A friendly smile and a comfy ‘tude are what every boy is looking for.
