Am I Unwanted?

My friends are always planning things behind my back. Sometimes they plan a sleepover or a shopping trip, but never include me. They claim I am always too busy, so why bother inviting me?

But I would probably be less hurt if this one "friend" stopped telling other friends "Oh, I can come!" when I am right there. I always ask what she can go to, and she says its nothing. I ask a few times until my other friend finally speaks up about what is going on. I occasionally get invited, but often don't.

It makes me feel like I am unwanted. The thing is this never used to happen before my BFF moved away. What should I do? Should I stop being their friend, or should I just pretend that I never heard the comment and live with this horrible feeling?

Hey girlie

That sounds like a total bummer, but hang in there. You should first most def have long talk with your girls. Be honest! Let them know how you feel. Whether it makes you sad, angry, or otherwise. Hopefully it’s all a misunderstanding and can work itself out. If not, then maybe it’s time for a new clique.

Summer is a great time to find new tons of new chicas to hang out with! Like you said, just stay totally busy. Use that to your advantage and make friends whereever you maybe. If it’s dance partner with a girlie in your jazz class, or over a relative’s house, make friends with someone nearby. Most importantly, don’t let it get you down chica! We all grow-up, and sometimes a part of growing up is growing out of some of our old friends.
