Take a Break! Wii Sports Resort

Take a vacay without even leaving your house.

Yep, that’s right. The spankin’ new Wii Sports Resort (a sequel to the action-packed Wii Sports) is the perfect summer essential for anyone looking to snag a breather from the usual routine. We hopped on board and tested the new game. The verdict? Two thumbs up in our book! Check out the deets:

Grab your Mii and escape to Wuhu Island, where you can immerse yourself in a dozen different resort-style activities (air sports, archery, basketball, bowling, canoeing, cycling, frisbee, golf, power cruising, swordplay, table tennis and wakeboarding), each offering a range of modes and unlockable levels.
The new bundle takes things one step further, introducing the Wii MotionPlus add-on to Wii remotes, allowing the system to track the slightest of movements from your wrist and forearm, making every twist and turn more precise and realistic. The Wii Remote and Nunchuk serve as different tools depending on the game: Players hold the remote like a paddle in canoeing, but use both arms to “pedal” while cycling.

But between all of the various activities you can pick, we suggest testing our ultimate faves: basketball and table tennis. From dribbling and shooting hoops to flicking a paddle, both are ultra-competitive and actually feel like the real thing.

An added bonus to all of the excitement? The game lends itself to a mini workout, too. You definitely break a sweat and arms get sore after an intense few rounds of any sport.

From beginners to super-competitive athletes, you can play alone or with the fam. Only downside? The Wii Sports Resort bundle only comes with one MotionPlus add-on. You’ll have to pick up extras at a store near you. So, who’s ready for a getaway? Start your own when Wii Sports Resort hits stores this SUNDAY, JULY 26.

Which sport would you like to play? Blog about it, babes.
