Childhood movies I still love

Growing up, my siblings and I spent a lot of our time watching tons of movies. Some, you’ve probably never even heard of. And while many were really bad and you probably couldn’t pay me to watch them now, there are a few staples that I’m still obsessed with!
Here are the select few I will still sit and watch years later, and laugh out loud…

Matilda It’s a classic book and an even better movie. I still get texts from my sisters quoting lines from this one. It’s a story of a genius young girl who discovers she has extraordinary powers. She uses them to escape her whacked-out, neglectful family and cruel principal. Def one I’ll always love.
Camp Nowhere This may be one you have never heard of, but it’s one you should see for sure. Camp Nowhere is thought up when a group of young kids are facing a summer sentence of being shipped off to boring summer camps. They come together to trick their parents, setting off to an original camp of their own—free of rules!

It Takes Two Three words: The Olsen Twins. Ash and MK are at their finest in this flick, where the girls play two look-alike girls who switch up their lives for a few weeks. Sounds like a repeat of every other movie they have ever made, but I still crack up when I watch it.

Beauty and the Beast Admit it, you love Disney movies. They’re entertaining and always include a delicious boy you wish would come whisk you away from your problems, too. Plus, you know every word to every song, right? Well, this one is my fave. At least I think it is…it’s so hard to choose!
House Arrest Again, widely-unknown in pop culture, but I own it on DVD and watch it weekly. The movie’s about a bunch of kids who are tired of dealing with their parents’ probs so they lock them in the basement for a few days. Every kid’s dream, right?! The best part is the young stars who round out the hilarious cast. Jennifer Love Hewitt is in it and is just as fab as she always is. There’s also an adorable Kyle Howard--you know, Lauren Conrad’s current BF?

Leave it to Beaver Def check it out if you haven’t already. Ward, June, Beaver, Eddie Haskell and a (majorly hot) Wally are all brought back to life in this ‘90s version remake of the popular ‘50s TV show. You won’t be disappointed.

Clue The game was one of my all-time favorites, so when I came across the movie it was like a dream come true. Okay, maybe it didn’t fulfill a life dream but it is great! Mrs. Scarlett, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum and all the other fantastic characters from the classic board game come to life in this funny flick about a murder-mystery in a creepy mansion. It’s a family favorite—and by that I mean my whole family LOVES it.

Which kid favorite flicks will you never grow old of? Blog about it, babes.
