Critics Pick: Top 9 Movies of '09

So long, 2009. You sure pumped out some awesome Blockbusters.
We racked our brain, even asked you GL cuties and, without further ado, compiled a list of our fave nine flicks from the year. Check ’em out…

1 New Moonbecause of the super-hot hunks (a.k.a. a much-shirtless Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson). Whether you’re a fan of the books or not, we think everyone can agree that the tension, the romance, the super-sizzling action was well worth the movie stub.

2 Monsters vs. Aliens…because it was full of laughs and had some awesome animation. And, hello? A 3-D flick is totally cool! It’s almost like you’re on the big screen with Ginormica and Gallaxhar. Team monsters or team aliens? Who to choose…?

3 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Princebecause it was funny, yet had the juicy romance every chick wants to see. We watched Harry and Ginny FINALLY get together and, admit, the flick truly tapped into our emotions. We’re counting down the days ’til the next installment, out this July.

4 Where the Wild Things Arebecause it was based on one of our favorite childhood bedtime stories! The action was exciting, and the classic story tugged at our heart-strings.

5 The Blind Sidebecause it was a truly touching tale. We’re a sucker for real-life stories and this one about football player Michael Oher (now a player for the Baltimore Ravens) was Inspirational and heartwrenching. Plus, actress Sandra Bullock (who was just nominated for a Golden Globe for her role) was fantastic. A feel-good story AND an awesome cast? What more could you want?!

6 17 Againbecause we can’t get enough of Zac Efron. He’s a hottie with a body and some sick acting skills. Plus, the movie made us chuckle from the beginning all the way to the very end.

7 Upbecause it was cute, yet hilarious, all at once. Besides the fact that it’s a Disney Pixar film (and what movie from them doesn’t stink?!), we loved the adventure and ah-dorable storyline and plot. Who can resist a talking dog?

8 Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonianbecause Ben Stiller was just as entertaining as he was in the first one—but with new laughs, adventures and new characters (including the three cupids, played by none other than the JoBros). Swoon!

9 The Proposalbecause it was beyond fun. Another hit for Sandra Bullock, she brought on the LOLs with a predictable—yet amusing—storyline. Oh, Sandra—and Ryan Reynolds—we heart you!

What was your fave movie of 2009? Which movie are you looking forward to most in 2010? Blog it up, ladies!
