Haiti needs YOUR help!

Imagine every possession you’ve ever had is gone. Your house is destroyed. You can't find your siblings or your parents. You can't even come across clean water or anything to eat. This is all happening in Haiti right now.

When tragedy strikes the world, it’s our job to help. On Jan. 12, 2010 a major earthquake hit this small Carribean country, killing at least 100,000 people.

The New York Times reported that 3 million Haitian people (1/3 of the whole population!) have been affected by the earthquake in some way whether it’s through death, destroyed housing or missing family members.

The people of Haiti need your help. With buildings destroyed and medical help few and far between, real people, girls your age, are hurt and not getting a doctor’s help.

Here are some ways to get involved.

Update your wardrobe. Buy any piece of clothing from beasyouare.com, a D.C. based fashion line, and 50% of the profits will be donated to several charities helping Haiti.

Pump up the volume. January 18th-February 28th. For every pair of headphones sold on headphonies.com, $1 will be donated to the American Red Cross International Response Fund.

Text away. Text the word “Haiti” to 90999 and donate $10 to the Red Cross Foundation to provide medical help to those in need. Visit redcross.org for more info.

Don’t sit back and wait for others to help Haiti. We’re not too young to make so a difference so get involved right now and be a part of the solution that’s saving lives. Every little bit helps. How are YOU helping?
