Week 8: Fake Your Faves
 
EAT After a couple months of eating well (go you, BTW!), you might miss a few of your old-school go-to eats. Skinny sweet potatoes (CLICK HERE for recipe) are a better burger bud than fries.
 

EXERCISE Ever had one of those workouts that totally moved with you? Girls who dig track can add sprinting to their normal jog. Love hiking? Fin a nearby hill and test yourself to do some repeats. Pared-down versions of things you like can keep you motivated.

Mod Mod, I was wondering some common foods that can help me lose the body, and tummy fat in addition to working out.I just cant go shopping, I'm broke and i have to eat the food in my house so answer!Smile

 

Hey girl, there aren't really foods that make the body get rid of fat, but you can never go wrong with lots of fruits, vegetables, and lean protein like chicken, turkey, and beans. Always pick whole wheat bread over white bread and limit sugar in the form of candy, drinks and cereals.

hey girls!
I am looking for a personal trainer who could help me out tons with my bod! I really want to target my abs and INNER thighs, and also maybe my calves, mid thighs, and arms.
I am fairly athletic:dancing for over 12 years now! I love to ride my bike. I also love to jog, but it kills my lungs: I always get so out of breath! I'm not fat, but I would like to drop a few pounds and get healthier!
****IMPORTANT:**i cannot cut sugar out of my diet b/c i have low blood sugar!*****

Mod---
Is sherbet a good subsitute for ice cream to eat sometimes after school? I checked and it only had 10 calories less then plain vanilla ice cream (it had 130 cals for a 1/2 cup) but I would often eat ice cream with more calories than plain vanilla.
Is eating a tiny bit of sherbet/ice cream every 2 or so weeks too often?

i really want to lose a little weight. it's mostly the fat on my stomach that bothers me the most, it makes me feel so horrible about myself and the way i look Frown how long do i need to exercise each day to lose weight? are there any specific foods to stay away from if you want to lose belly fat? please help!

MOD~ Now that is summer, I have been drinking fluids more. But I drink more life water than real water. Is that okay. I still drink water. Also what are some good ab exercises? Thank you. Smile







Hey girl, 

As far as drinks go, Life Water is a pretty healthy one, but try to drink at least a glass or two of pure water every day! Okay, so it's summer, and that means LOTS of swimmming and wearing a swimsuit (for me, a bikini.) So during the holidays, I ate a lot of sweets, and the same during spring. I try to work out, but I never find the time to do it. And I've gained some weight, and it's not REALLY fat, but it makes me look a little bigger, and I'm a little embarassed to wear a bikini. And what I'm trying to decide if I should workout or not. Do you think I should workout to burn off that extra fat?

 

Working out is always a great addition to any healthy lifestyle--it will keep you happy, energized, and fit! Try it out to burn off extra fat, and be sure you eat healthy, too!

I like cover ups that r made out of "terri" cloth
- the coverups up there look like they would b very uncomfortable after going swimming- and I think that the point of a cover up is to wear it b4 and AFTER u go swimming-

MOD~ hey mod, i got some boy issuses ok, i really like this guy....A LOT!! recently i heard one of his best friends likes me...for the past FIVE MONTHS!!! he knows i like his friend, but i kinda like him.....do u think he would go out with me?

 

It depends.  He may not want to upset his friend by taking the girl he likes away from him.  What I would do is let his friend (whose liked you for 5 months) know you aren't interested in him like that.  Once you establish a friend level with your crush's friend, then it would be safe to pursue your crush more heavily!  Good luck

well i told u about how my gradndas moving in and i cant change tht my parents get how i feel but they cant change it she cant live anywhere else and we do hav a basemenat but thtws y im mad cuz me and my sister always hang out there w/ friends or family or eachother we will hav 1 room and we're gunna decortae it more and make it thins cool movie room (my dad is goin to take a projector for moveis and put it on the wall so we can watch them on the wall) it will be cool but i think it will be weird going there w/ friends or other ppl and if i hav my little cousins over thats where we hang out and play games and stufff and we hav no other place to do tht!
i told my parents about all these things and some other things tht im too sad to write but they wont change their mind cuz they cant she cant affored many places with the horrieble economy
how cant i be happy with all these stressful things goin on in my life i hav nothing happy or good to look forward to tommmorow or any day! plz help me! idk how to get happy again!

Hey girl, you have to stop looking at the negatives if you want to look forward to something in the future. Sure, you won't be abel to use the basement as freely as you did before, but this just gives you the opportunity to look for some other place to hang out with your friends. Hey girl, let's tackle your problem one at a time. First of all, why are you upset that your grandmother is moving in? She's part of your family and if it's bugging you that much, you should talk to your parents about it. Next, popularity. Trust me. Popularity means nothing. Seriously. You really just have to be yourself and you shouldn't care if your personality makes you "popular" or not. In the end, it really doesn't matter. Also, for the friend drama, drama only occurs when you react to it. Lastly, you shouldn't hate your life. If you hate your life, you'll never enjoy it. Mod, every night I am so restless, i can't stop my legs from moving around, and i can never get comfortable. Does this have something to do with exercise because I don't really exercise all that much.




Hey girl, what you're describing is probably not related to exercise. Try to calm yourself down before going to sleep, take a relaxing bath or read before you hop into bed. Turn off your computer and your cell phone and play some soft music. Empty your thoughts completely and just concentrate on your breathing. Soon you'll be drifting off to la la land! ~Alexa
