Dating

Why am I not head-over-heels in love?

I recently started dating this boy. He's cute, funny and sweet. I like him a lot, he makes me laugh and feel good about myself, but I feel like I should be more in love with him. I don't think about him when I hear a love song and I don't always wish he was with me. Am I leading him on? I enjoy his company, but is that enough?

Hey girlie! It’s great that you care about this guy and don’t want to hurt his feelings by leading him on. But the way you feel is completely normal and totally good enough.

Reality vs. TV
When characters on your fave TV show/movie fall in love, lovey-dovey music plays and they can’t stop thinking about each other. But that’s not how it is in real life. Sure, some gals have major crushes and feelings for they’re BF, but don’t feel like you have to have those same feelings or be head over heels in love over this guy.

Don’t Force It
Feelings have to come naturally, so don’t put pressure on yourself by thinking you should be more in love with him. From what you’ve described, it sounds like you really like him. And at your age, that’s how it should be. By not wanting to be with him 24/7, it shows that you have a life outside of your relationship, which is important.

He Probably Feels the Same Way

You and your guy have JUST started dating, so don’t think that you should automatically be in love. He probably likes you as much as you like him (no more, no less). I’m sure he also appreciates the fact that you’re not obsessed with him, which is something that guys (and us girls) don’t like.

As long as you’re honest with yourself and him, you’re on the right track chica.
