I have this hair growing in above my upper lip, and it is
black. It looks like I have a mustache. It is really annoying, and it looks
bad! Please help!
Your sitch is oh-so-common among girls and women with dark
hair and more olive skin tones. Thankfully, there are two easy fixes, and you
can do both at home or in a salon. Before you do anything, though, you should
talk to your mom, if she has the same problem, or other female family members
to see how they handle their unwanted dark facial hair.
Wax it away
Any salon that offers waxing services will be able to wax
the hair above your upper lip. It’s a simple, quick procedure that’ll only hurt
for a few seconds. You can also find facial waxing kits at your local beauty
supply or drug store. Follow the directions on the box and be sure to do a test
patch just in case you react poorly to the wax.
Bleach it to blend in
Another option is to bleach the hair so it becomes less noticeable. You
can find bleaching crème kits at any drug store on the cheap, and you can do it
yourself in about 10 minutes. Follow the directions carefully and again, do a
test patch first. Results usually last a few weeks depending on the speed of
hair growth.
