If your so-blah locker makes you cringe whenever ya put in
your combo, then listen up! We’re glamming up grim lockers to keep ya grinning
from homeroom to the final bell. Who says school can’t be crafty?
#1 A dry-erase board
Pick up a small dry-erase board at an office supply store.
Go to town decorating it with preppy ribbon and stickers. For some
boredom-busting before homeroom, use permanent marker to add on a blank
tic-tac-toe box, hangman’s noose or dots grid.
#2 Shelves
Keep things organized with bright-colored locker shelves. We
think arranging your books, notebooks and folders by period works the best and
will have ya off to class in a jiff, but tidy up however you like.
#3 Got a spare?
Grab a cute, inexpensive acrylic or plastic glass. Decorate
it with puff paint and permanent markers, then glue a magnet to one side, right
in the middle. Pop it up on your locker door and fill it with extra pens,
pencils and other school supplies just in case you run out on your way to
class.
#4 Quick-fix bag
Scout out a local crafts store for a plain, zippered bag. It
can be cloth or plastic, and should be the size of a makeup bag for optimal
storage capacity. Use a hot glue gun to add on cute patches, glittery jewels
and other fun things that are totally Y-O-U. Then, toss in some necessities: An
extra lip balm, period supplies, a Tide bleach pen for emergencies—you get the
idea.
#5 Photos + Magnets
Last but not least, you’re gonna need some stellar finishing
touches. Arrange a trip to the mall with your buds and cram your crew into the
nearest photo booth. Spend five minutes snapping silly pics that are sure to
make you smile during the school day, then use ridic magnets to post the photo
strips in your locker.
What’s one thing you keep in your locker that you cannot
live without?
