I started junior high this year, and I find it very
overwhelming. I don’t have time for all the things I love—boys, friends,
shopping, etc. What can I do to get my life back and relax?
Dear Stress Mess,
You’re not alone, and I’m sorry you’re feeling stressed.
Lots of hardworking people get overwhelmed because there isn’t enough time to
do everything every day. But in the big scheme of things, there is enough time
to do what matters. It’s just that you may have to study during the week, and
flirt, chat and shop on weekends.
This doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some daily rest and
relaxation. You can! Give yourself daily kickback time—whether that means
taking a bath, e-mailing friends, reading a novel, doing yoga, listening to
music, yakking on the phone or walking your dog.
