Don’t
toss those delish morsels when you’re scooping out your carving
pumpkin! Save the seeds so you can munch on a healthy snack while you’re
creating your masterpiece. *Note: the oven is required for this recipe,
so get Mom or Dad’s help first.
What you’ll need: Pumpkin seeds, rinsed of all pumpkin strings and
residue; olive oil (enough to coat); sea salt; a medium-sized mixing
bowl, non-stick baking pan and spatula.
The how-to: Make sure you have all your tools and ingredients at the ready.
1. Preheat the oven to 350º. Place seeds in the mixing bowl and toss
with about 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil—just enough so they’re coated.
2. Spread seeds in a thin layer on the baking pan. Season with plenty of sea salt.
3. Place the pan in the oven and roast until toasted and fragrant,
about 10-15 min. Let cool on the pan for 5 minutes before eating!
