Whether you’re throwing a V-Day bash or just want to get
crafty with your besties, we’ve got the perfect
DIY
project for you—just in time for the love holiday! Making heart-shaped pillows
is simple, fun and oh-so adorable. So get your girls and supplies together (you
can find everything you need at a fabric or craft store) and get started!
You will need...
This heart
template
Fabric in pink, red and Valentine’s Day patterns
Scissors
Needle and thread
Stuffing
The basics
Pick out the fabric you want to use and then fold it in half.
Print the template and place it on the fold, and then cut along the edges to
get a symmetrical heart half. Do the same step again on another fold of fabric.
Sew the two pieces together with the right sides facing in, but don’t sew the
whole heart together yet. Leave a little room to put your stuffing in, and then
stitch it together.
Heart pillow, 2.0
You can use a copy machine (or your comp) to easily resize
our template, making it as large or small as you want it to be. Make a bunch in
different sizes to toss on your bed. Make a huge one to give to your bestie.
Make a teeny one and attach a loop of ribbon , then drape over a door handle or
Mom’s rearview mirror. The possibilities are endless!
Dress it up
Got the nitty-gritty down? Glam up your pillow by sewing on
sequins or hot-gluing rhinestones. Create a sachet by filling it with dried
lavender. Get cutesy with felt and embroidery floss. The options are endless!
