As soon as those nagging cramps make their debut during that
time of the month, most of us go reaching for the pain relievers. No
longer, babes! It might just be time to put down that giant cup of coffee and
your bottle of Tylenol. There’s an au natural way to bid those annoyances adieu.
A recent small study in Italy discovered that all you need is a
bit of Vitamin D. Scientists found that a high dose of Vitamin D3 was
enough to drop the pain levels of the women involved in the study by 41
percent. Blood tests performed on these women also showed Vitamin D deficiency,
leading the experts involved to suggest a link between this deficiency and
excruciating period cramps.
The recommended daily of D is 600 IU, but researchers are
beginning to suspect that it is far too low. The women in the study were given
a whopping 300,000 IU! If you’re having crazy period cramps, make an
appointment to chat with your doctor. He can test you for Vitamin D deficiency,
and may suggest that you start taking a multivitamin or supplement to up your
levels.
Fingers crossed this one’s a cure, cuties!
