I’m notorious for being annoying. I like it, I’m known for
it and it fits me. The only thing is that my friends don’t like it at all. I’m
moving soon, and I’m worried I won’t make friends because of my weird
personality. Sometimes I’m calm, but mostly I’m like the Energizer Bunny. Is
that bad?
Dear Energizer Bunny,
It’s good to be energetic and content with yourself. It’s
not so good to grate on your friends’ nerves. Since you’ll be starting fresh in
a new school, why not try toning down a bit so you can make the most of the
opportunity to meet new friends? Notice when others seem to enjoy your company
vs. when they seem to back off.
Your personality and behavior aren’t absolute givens—after
all, you do have some control. People like girls who laugh and have spunk, but
if you’re laughing like a hyena and bouncing like a bunny, rein your actions in
a bit so people will find you animated—not annoying.
