My BGF was talking to me one day and all of the sudden he asked
me if I had a crush on him. I said no, but he thinks that I was lying. Now he
won't even talk to me. Why is he so hung up on that? It's been like a month or two.
His Answer: “Sounds like your guy friend has a crush on you and was
embarrassed you didn’t feel the same way,” says Ethan, 14, “Now he doesn’t know
how to act around you and has decided just to avoid the situation.”

Your BGF’s feelings were – and probs still are – hurt. He was
crushing hard and is now majorly self-conscious that you weren’t feeling the
same way. He thinks it’s easier to stop talking than dealing with his emotions.
Your Move: How would you react if you were secretly crushing on your BGF
and he told you the feelings weren’t mutual? Super embarrassed, probs. That’s
how he’s feeling right now. Although he never straight out said, “I like you,” that
was his way of hinting that he likes you. Let him know that you still want to
be friends and try to give him some space. It will take time for him to be
comfortable around you again, but it will happen.
