Why do guys seem to only be into girls who wear
skimpy clothes, flirt with every boy they see, and always act ditzy and
constantly try to be the center of attention? I don't think I'm bad-looking,
and my friends say that I'd be a great catch, but guys never notice me! What's
wrong with girls who don't feel the need to always be in the limelight and act
stupid to get attention?

begging for attention in the middle of everyone,” says Jack, 15. “I know that

Decoded: Guys can get totally caught up with the crowd
when everyone is paying attention to a particular girl, just like you and your
girls might all be obsessed with the same hottie. But also like girls, guys
want to hang with someone that has similar interests to them–and maybe that’s
not the cutie you had your eye on, but someone totally unexpected!
Your Move: Be
yourself and don’t compare yourself to other girls. If a boy is interested in
you for the right reasons, he will show it by having conversations with you and
seeing your smarts instead of just your looks.
Stand out and be the smart and self-secure girl–it will definitely help
you to get noticed. If you’re open to meeting people that like you for who you
