So you’re dyin’ to spend every second of every day with your
honey, but then ya wouldn’t have many friends. And your girlies
did know ya first. Lucky for you, there
is a way to balance both without getting out your scale. Here are seven tips to
keep up with your besties and
still
have plenty of time with your sweetie.
Keep Those Fingers
Still
When you’re hangin’ with your besties, don’t text your BF
the whole time, and vice versa. The time you spend together will seem like more
if you’re focusing your whole attention on the person you’re with. So before
you go on a date or meet your buds, let the others know that you’re busy. Or
just apologize after when you do get a chance to respond to their texts.
Reality Check
So you’ve been thinkin’ of asking your boy to hang on Friday
night, but then your girlies invite you to come to a sleepover. Not sure which
plan to pick? First off, if you’ve told either you guy your gals that you’re definitely
in, that’s who you’ve gotta stick with. But if you haven’t made a choice, it’s
probably best to go with the one you haven’t hung out with recently. Been with
your dude three days in a row? Chill with your chicas.
Liar, Liar, Pants on
Fire
The worst thing you can do is lie about where you are and
who you’re with. If your gals have been noticing that you’re getting wrapped up
in your man, they’re not gonna appreciate it if you start lying to them so that
you can spend more time with him. Remember, honesty is always the best policy.
Call Me, Maybe
If you’re just dyin’ to hang with your special someone but
don’t have time for a full-on date, give him a quick call. It’s a lot more
personal than a text, and you can at least hear his super-cute voice before you
go on with the rest of your day. That way, you can also catch up on everything
at once, instead of texting him constantly and ignoring the people that you’re
actually with.
Save the Date
The best way to balance hanging out with friends and your BF
is to plan ahead. Keep track of important dates on your calendar, and stay
organized. If you’ve got everything written down, it’ll also be easier to see
how many times this week you’ve written down “girl time” and how many times it
says “see my sweetie.”
It’s Nice to Share
Who says that your besties can’t be friends with your
boyfriend? If a big group of your pals is heading to the pool for the
afternoon, see if they’d mind having your honey tag along. Afraid he’s gonna
feel outnumbered by all that girl power? Tell him to bring a few friends, too,
and make it a party.
Emergency!
If one of your girlies has a break-up or other serious
issue, you need to make time for her ASAP. Same goes for your dude. If
something goes wrong in his life. Just explain the sitch to your other pals,
and they should understand. Don’t cancel on everyone at the last minute all the
time, but in rare cases, it’s acceptable. When the sitch calls for it, you’ll
know.
So chickies, how do
you make sure that you’re not forgettin’ your besties or your boy from week to
week?
