Maybe he’s thinking of you too. Do you have his e-mail or mailing address? Send a Facebook message or a text saying you hope his school year is off to a good start. If, however, you’re sure there is no way you’ll communicate with him until next summer, then (sigh) try to put those happy memories aside and plunge into the here-and-now. The beginning of a new school year is an excellent time to make new friends. Study the bulletin boards in your school hallways to find out about different clubs and meetings. Sign up for a sport, try out for a play, take up a new instrument. Don’t shortchange yourself by letting your social life go into deep freeze just because summer’s over.
