Find out all the twists and turns of Pearl Littlefield’s summer in,
Ten
Good and Bad Things About My Life (So Far) by Ann
M. Martin.
It’s the beginning of June, the
weather is beautiful outside and summer vacation is just around the
corner. Sounds perfect right? Although
we all count down the days for this time of year, Pearl Littlefield had an
unexpected turn of events. Yes, she was just as excited as everyone else, but
sadly her hopeful summer plans quickly spiraled downhill.
Pearl’s father lost his job, the
planned family vacation to the Wild West ended up being a ‘staycation’ in her
hometown, and when she thought things couldn’t get much worse, she had a big
fight with her good friend James!
After surviving the summer,
Pearl was a little anxious but excited for her first day of fifth grade. And at
the end of that first day, she was given a HW assignment: to write an essay
about her summer.
Not even knowing where to begin,
Pearl sits down and thinks about it for a while. She just has way too much to
write about.
Life is what happens when you’re
making other plans. And as Pearl says, “You never know what’s around the
corner.” Read Ann M. Martin’s
newly-released Ten Good and Bad Things
About My Life (So Far) to find out what really happened over Pearl’s
summer, and about the events that changed her mind from ten “bad things” to
“good.”
