Recent
high school grad and good girl, Allyson Healey, is on a whirlwind tour of
Europe when she meets Willem—a Dutch actor. At and underground performance of
Shakespeare’s
Twelfth Night, there is an undeniable spark between
the two. When fate steps in and brings them together once again, Allyson sheds
her sheltered exterior and agrees to go to Paris with the handsome actor. But
after just one day together, she awakes to find Willem gone…with nothing but
questions left in his wake.
Back
in America, Allyson can’t shake Willem from her mind. And even with the new
world of college offering her a chance to forget her adventure in Paris, she
finds herself breaking away from other’s expectations. Realizing her passions,
she starts searching for clues about Willem’s whereabouts.
Just
One Day by Gayle Forman (available Jan. 8) explores the heartbreak of unrequited love with
an added air of mystery and adventure. Forman creates a story that draws you
in, and even has you asking along with Allyson: what happened to Willem?
In
this open-ended novel, readers will follow Allyson on her journey of
self-discovery and be left frantically awaiting the companion story—written in
Willem’s point of view—which is set to release Fall 2013.
