Burning a hundred extra calories a day is a snap. You don’t have to clock treadmill time to torch ‘em, either. All you’ve gotta do is add a little bounce to your step. Here are our favorite ideas to get ya moving as you go through your day.
Walk around the house while you’re on the phone or waiting for a text
Accompany Mom to the grocery store and offer to grab things she forgot—especially if they’re all the way across the store
Early for class? Cruise down the hall for a minute, then come back
Play with your pet. Have a cat? Pick up a spare bit of ribbon and run around the house. Dog? Grab a ball and get your booty off the couch
Pop in earbuds on the way to your bus stop and play an upbeat playlist. You’ll automatically increase your pace to match the beat of the music
Bust a move while you’re waiting for your toast to pop outta the toaster, the kettle to whistle or the microwave to ding
Offer to fetch extra napkins and ketchup packets for your table while in the school caf
Jog into and out of the school locker room before and after gym class
Carry your books in your arms rather than on your back
Help Dad bring in the groceries, dry cleaning—anything!—and take as many trips as possible
