Period Dreams

 
Ever since I got my period, I think about having kids when I get older. I even had a couple dreams about it!

“Getting your period signals a new era in a girl’s life. It’s normal for you to prepare yourself ‘psycologically’” say Jane V. MacCauley, family therapist and mental health educator. “These thoughts are part of a woman’s development.” Your mind is “projecting” into the future, which is common. Anything can trigger it. Ever had a crush on a boy and start imagining his last name with your first name? Same thing.
 
Just don’t confuse daydreaming with reality. You have many dreams to follow through on before you are ready for that one.

today i was in church and i saw this little girl. she was sooooooo cute i legit thought i was gonna like die. she was so adorable. so the thought occurred to me. wouldnt it be adorable if a minni me was running around? it was interesting. but i dont have my period at all so it was kinda weird

my mom got her period in 4th or 5th grade. im in middle skool n dont hav it. is there something wrong because i thought ur supposed to get around when ur mom did?

MOD!! I have had my period like 4 times and its kinda irregular. i get my period like 1 time a month but I can never tell when its gonna happen and I get it and it ruins my underwear and my mom is getting innoyede that I am ruining all of my undies. What can I do?!

 

Hey girl,
Sorry about the period stress.  In the first year after you get your period, it's totes normal to be a little irregular.  The best thing is to just be prepared - keep extra pads in your backpack, locker, and purse so you're always ready.  And tell you're mom that you're still just getting used to it!  It will start to feel like a natural part of your life in no time.  xoxo
