How to achieve TikTok's viral "Cold Girl" makeup look

TikTok's latest beauty trend, the "Cold Girl" makeup look, has been hitting FYPs everywhere over the past few weeks. While winter is known for making your skin flaky and dry (no thanks!), the rosy red cheeks and frosty lips are more than welcome to stay 'til spring. With this simple, glowy and easy-to-achieve look, there will be no need to spend hours getting ready before your 8 a.m. Time to fulfill all your winter princess fantasies!

The formula

@zoekimkenealy #greenscreen I think this is my favorite TikTok I’ve ever made even tho I felt so basic going outside and taking selfies with my Starbucks it was also the highlight of my day hehe it’s Makeup for serotonin feels and hallmark movie time! It’s the im cold it’s winter and the holidays and fall makeup look tutorial. #wintermakeup #fallmakeuplook #coldmakeup #maccosmetics #benefitcosmetics #makeupforever #wintermakeuplook ♬ august - Taylor Swift

The OG video that started the trend is from makeup TikToker @zoekimkenealy. She shows how you can transform yourself into the star of a Hallmark holiday movie (tbh, we've all dreamed about it) with only a few short steps. Sticking to the essentials, all that's really required for this look is moisturizer, highlighter and, to top it off, a *bunch* of blush.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize

Glossier, $26

The winter weather brings tons of fun, but a chill in the air can also zap the dewy glow right out of your skin. Start your "Cold Girl" look with a moisturizer or serum (we recommend Glossier's Futuredew), guaranteed to give your cheeks some extra glow whether you're serenely sipping cocoa by the fireplace or having a raucous snowball fight in the cold.

A diamond's gotta shine

Sephora, $22

Nothing beats a good shimmer, and the Cold Girl sparkles wherever she goes. Cream highlighter is conveniently multifunctional and can be used to give your nose, cheekbones and eyelids all some extra shine!

Blush it up

Burt's Bees, $13

The final and most important step to the "Cold Girl" look? Adding a *ton* of color to your cheeks. This cream stick from Burt's Bees comes in six shades so you can find the perf match for your skin tone. Better yet, it doubles as a hydrating lip gloss to keep your lips from flaking when the dry winter winds arise. You'll have cheeks rosy enough to rival St. Nick himself.

Finishing touches

@glowyamethyst

If you'd like,  add a single coat of mascara or swipe on some brow gel. But if you're running out the door to meet up with your besties for some ice skating in the park (or to your French final...or to the mall for some last-minute Christmas shopping), you're all set! Go enjoy the chilly weather with your newfound glow.
