10 unforgettable looks from the Oscars red carpet
Lights, camera, couture! Glitz and glamour was front and center during the most glamorous night in Hollywood as the Academy Awards rolled out the red carpet for the 2024 Oscars ceremony. This year's celebration left us speechless as Hollywood's elite stepped up their A-game in a mesmerizing display of luxury evening gowns and archival runway designs.

Ariana Grande
The Wicked looks are just beginning! Fresh off the release of her latest album Eternal Sunshine, the singer wore a bubblegum pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown in a nod to Glinda. The voluminous look featured a strapless, ruched dress with billowing sleeves, overskirt and train all in one. Accessorizing with matching pink jewels from Tiffany & Co., Ariana later presented Best Original Song and Best Original Score alongside co-star Cynthia Erivo.
Zendaya
When has the queen ever gone wrong? Zendaya stepped onto the red carpet wearing Armani Privé. Her sleek rose silk gown featured embroidered palm trees and a sequined black bodice. With minimal jewelry (pink drop earrings and a Bulgari bracelet), the Dune 2 star stunned in a retro bob reminiscent of Hollywood starlets from Oscars past.
Carey Mulligan
Carey Mulligan has single-handedly brought back old-school Hollywood glitz and glamour in this archival Balenciaga gown from 1951. Nominated for Best Actress, the star delivered in a dramatic form-fitting silhouette in black with a mermaid-style skirt of white tulle. Her ensemble is a nod to her performance of Felicia Montealegre Bernstein in Maestro, who married her husband Leonard Bernstein in 1951.
Maitreyi Ramakrishnan
Never have I ever seen a more lovely Oscars debut! Maitreyi Ramakrishnan attended her first Academy Awards in a piece from designer Zuhair Murad's spring-summer 2024 ready-to-wear collection. Her black and white floor-length gown featured a slit and ruched waist tied together with an oversized black bow. The actress gave high-end glamour with a subltly messy updo and dangling diamond earrings
Lupita Nyong'o
Lupita Nyong'o has never once looked anything less than gorgeous in blue, and this year was no exception! The actress walked the carpet in Armani Privé in a sleek, pale blue gown embroidered with hundreds of tiny crystals. Micaela Erlanger, her stylist, said her look was a tribute to her 2014 Oscars gown when she won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Patsey in 12 Years A Slave. Lupita was one of five previous winners to present for the Best Supporting Actress category.
Anya Taylor Joy
Anya Taylor Joy attended this year's ceremony in Cristian Dior Haute Couture. The actress was dressed in a silver strapless dress adorned with crystal-encrusted petals. A structured skirt dazzled with a cinched waist and crystalline beading along the edges of each petal. The look is reminiscent of Dior's 1949 Junon gown featuring a petaled skirt with ombréed beading.
Xochitl Gomez
Bobs are officially the It girl style this season, as Xochitl Gomez was another one of many who slayed this old Hollywood hairstyle. The actress made her Oscars debut in a burgundy gown by Hassidriss. She topped the look off with gold heels and dangly earrings.
Da'Vine Joy Randolph
Make that *Academy Award-winning actress Da'Vine Joy Randolph. Da'Vine won Best Supporting Actress for her role of head cook Mary Lamb in The Holdovers, and she looked absolutely dazzling while doing it. She wore a pastel blue Louis Vuitton gown covered in crystalline beading. The queen swept awards season in this year's Best Supporting Actress category, including winning a Golden Globe, BAFTA, Critics' Choice and Screen Actors Guild award.
America Ferrera
Barbie, you will always hold a special place in all of our hearts! America Ferrera, nominated for Best Supporting Actress, wore a pink Atelier Versace in a nod to her Barbie roots. The sleeveless gown was made entirely of chainmail that supposedly took over 10 times to get *just* the right shade of pink. With a brilliant necklace courtesy of Pomellato and a straight bob, America's look was the perfect finale for the last of a long line of Barbie-inspired outfits.
Florence Pugh
The Dune 2 ladies did not come to play! Florence Pugh joined her Dune 2 co-stars on the Oscars red carpet wearing Del Core. This ready-to-wear ensemble was a sculptural masterpiece, combining a white silk skirt with a mini train and a structured corset top with floating straps and beading akin to large water droplets. The armored-like look was paired with a wrap-around Bulgari serpent necklace.
