Prom hairstyles perfect for short hair

Calling all cropped-locks cuties: we’ve rounded up our three new fave styles for short hair, just in time for spring dance season. Whether you’re rocking a lob, bob or pixie, we’ve got a gorge ‘do just for you.

If you have a…longish pixie like Julianne Hough

Julianne’s mass of curls softens up her edgy ‘do—perfect for a fancy affair.

1.  On damp hair, apply a little bit of curling gel and blow dry in the product to keep hair in control.
2.  Once completely dried, gently curl hair with a 3/4-inch barrel curling iron. Make sure to hold curling iron in different directions to get gorgeous curls.
3.  Gently twist, tuck and pin back curls to create a cohesive, not crazy style—sort of in a Mohawk fashion. Perfect for showing off the wavy texture.
4.  Lastly, spray your hair with your fave hairspray and rake your fingers through to loosen things up.

If you have…a cute bob like Zooey Deschanel

We’re all about the New Girl’s new ‘do. Check out the so-simple steps, below:

1.  Blow-dry damp hair with a rounded brush and your head upside down to give your hair extra volume.
2.  With a curling iron, carefully curl just the ends of your hair inward.
3.  Loosely bobby pin the front section of your hair behind the rest of the hair—it should create a faux fringe. If you have bangs, make sure to keep them to the side with hairspray.
4.  Lastly, lightly spritz your hair to keep you going all night.

If you have a…lob (that’s long-bob) like Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel’s shoulder-length style is full of texture and volume—perfect for a slinky frock.

1.  Fully blow dry damp, clean hair upside down to give even more volume.
2.  Pin upper half of hair up in order to curl bottom half of hair with a curling wand. Before curling each section, lightly spritz with a lightweight hair spray.
3.  Repeat with the top section of hair.
4.  With fingers, lightly brush out curls to create loose waves.
5.  Part hair in the middle and spritz with hairspray.
