Beauty habits that make a huge difference

It can definitely be hard to find the time and energy to take proper care of yourself—we totally get it. You’re busy, tired, crunched for time, and washing your face or brushing your teeth before bed can be the least appealing thing in the world when your head already hit the pillow. If this sounds like you, don’t worry—we’ve all been there. To help you out with your struggling beauty routine, we’ve got a few simple habits you can start getting into right now to look (and feel) your very best without tons of extra effort. Check them out below!

A top-notch moisturizer is your new BFF
Keeping your skin hydrated is super important and is always the first step towards clean, healthy skin (supermodels swear by it). Be sure to avoid scented lotions for your face, as it can irritate the skin. For an alternate solution to soaking up some moisture, put a humidifier in your room at night to do the work while ya snooze!

Keep your cell clean
Make sure you’re routinely cleaning your phone, front and back. Just think of all the gross places you’ve set it down throughout the day—yuck. The second you pick up a phone call, you’re transferring those nasty germs to your face. Try using wipes or a tech cleanser on your phone every day and your face will thank you with less pore-clogging grease and grime.

Fall in love with H2O
Looking for perfectly clear skin? Water is definitely key. It hydrates and brightens your skin from within, giving you the prettiest glow. If water sounds boring, try out a fruit infusing water bottle; that way you can add your fave fruits (strawberries and kiwis are a good combo) which give it a yummy aftertaste. You’ll down glass after glass, trust us.

Catch those ZZZ’s
As tempting as it may be to stay up and binge watch Netflix every night (like re-watching every episode of PLL before the summer premiere), you really do need about 7-8 hours of sleep per night. Getting enough sleep can eliminate under-eye circles, help with your circulation and even out your skin color. If you’re having trouble snoozing, make sure to stay away from your laptop screen at least 30 minutes before bedtime—it might be the cause!

SPF all the way
Always, always, always wear sunscreen! Obvi we all want to soak up the sun and get a great tan, but hurting our skin at the same time is not the way to do it. Avoid harmful rays and the potential for skin cancer by lathering on sunscreen daily. Even when it’s cloudy, your skin can still be affected, so make this one a habit for life.

Exfoliation to the rescue
Exfoliating helps to remove the dead skin from your body and keep it looking good as new. Various skin types react differently to these, so make sure you pick the consistency that’s right for y-o-u. Plus, there are also some great natural recipes on Pinterest that show you how to make your own!
